Life Like is proud to work alongside Detroit singer/songwriter/director/multi-format visionary Chloe Drallos for the release of her debut solo album, The Cave. We first crossed paths with Chloe nearly a decade ago when she was making doom pop with her band Zilched, a group that toured extensively and accomplished a lot from an almost entirely independent standpoint. The transition into solo artistry is a natural one, as Chloe's songwriting and artistic drive have been at the center of everything she's been a part of. Her first album under her own name, The Cave is a dense and sometimes confrontational statement of intent.

In essence, these songs are unrelentingly catchy pop, heavy with powerful guitar hooks, but also quick to throw spirals of spaghetti Western horn arrangements into the mix. There's a cinematic sheen over the album that nods to Morricone while delivering high-impact choruses with unexpected melodic turns.

Recorded in Detroit by Shadow Show's Kate Derringer, and completed with the assistance of some of the city's best musicians, The Cave is part rock record, part manifesto. It distills the overarching vibe of all of Drallos' multimedia work-- her writing, short films updating b-movie vampire gore to fit into a modern day late-stage capitalism hellscapes, high concept live performances --- into songs that hit with immediacy but leave us thinking about them after they've faded.

This is a one-time pressing of 200 copies on standard black vinyl with full color jackets, printed spines, and two-sided lyric sheets with complete lyrics and credits. Shipping worldwide beginning on or before the June 12th release date and copies will also be available at the artist's shows.
