Casual and conversational duet of keyboard synthesizer and guitar from XV members Emily and Claire. This improvisatory time-pass was recorded just as nonchalantly as the music was being made, with an already in-place mic set up and four-track simply activated while the sounds occurred. Nothing was planned, expanded on, or revisited, and neither of the players remembers anything about this jam. All of this should tell you that it's utterly perfect.

This release harkens back to some of the best early Life Like tapes, those that randomly grabbed sounds from chance situations and used the cassette format to pay closer attention to the intensity and wonder always happening around us. Emily & Claire present you with about 15 or 20 minutes of such sounds (program from side one repeats far louder on side two) as they recall the wintery drift of White House-era Dead C, the Garbage & the Flowers's stoned rehearsals, and Flying Saucer Attack's absentminded pondscum dives. If you could even sort of understand any part of that last sentence, you probably need this tape as soon as possible.
